Dan Dan the Weatherman's Antarctic Diary

Between January and March 2005 I worked as a weather forecaster for the British Antarctic Survey at Rothera on the Antarctic Peninsula. Below you can read my diary of what I got up to 'down south'. Alternatively you can go to Amazon and buy diaries written by real polar explorers which will give you a much better insight into how harsh Antarctica can be! With this in mind I recommend The Worst Journey in the World by Apsley Cherry Garrard, The Coldest March by Susan Solomon and Captain Scott by Ranulph Fiennes.

Anyway, to make it easier to follow these diaries I've organized them into weeks. So,

Week One (Saturday 1 to Sunday 9 January 2005) ...Nederlandse versie hier
